A beautiful historic center, packed full of restaurants, boutiques and a Caribbean way of life
SPANISH, MUSIC, CHOCOLATE AND SUNSHINE IN CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA:
During the seemingly never to end cold and dark months up north...in January we take you to the beaches and warmth of Colombia. Enhance your Spanish and your mood as we move to the sun-drenched "calles" of Cartagena, Colombia, for individual Spanish instruction and the amazing palate and entertaining ways of Martín Mantegini who will take us on a never to be forgotten journey of the tastes and histories of chocolate, coffee and rum with nightly classes and afternoon forays. We will be studying the best that Colombia offers, all while getting our three hours of one-on-one language classes in each day. Yes, you will have to work on your Spanish, refine your senses and stretch your memory, but what an experience it will be and in what a wonderful location. This beautiful walled city, once ravished by pirates, combines modern and historic in a beautiful way in a still relatively unknown corner of the Caribbean. As fellow adventurer Roberto from Kentucky will tell you...Colombia is an undiscovered jewel! We will enjoy this wonderful Caribbean city of amazing beauty during its festival of lights and music.
The Cartagena International Music Festival borrows some of the city's most picturesque public and private spaces to create a cultured start to the year. Check out the offerings here http://www.ticartagena.com/en/what%27s-happening/events-in-cartagena/cartagena-international-music-festival/  You'll spend the month in beautiful modern apartments right on the beach, with mornings and evenings spent in one of the most historic and elegant of all South American cities...and the food, wow!
