Considered by many of our past participants to be the most delicious and fun of all the South American programs we host this adventure at the base of the Andes in Mendoza and Cafayate, Argentina.  We celebrate the long evenings and warm days of the South American summer in the midst of reports of wintry weather back home. ​

Dividing our time between the wine regions of Mendoza and Cafayate, Argentina, this dual-track program gives you the option to study the Argentine wine industry and culture completely in Spanish or English during "Vendimia 2019". We will celebrate the long evenings and warm days of the South American summer in the midst of reports of wintry weather back home. Improving our Spanish in the beauty and warmth of the vivacious people of Mendoza with native son Martín and his brother Luis Mantegini, two of the best wine educators in Argentina. We will be in Mendoza during "Vendimia" ranked by National Geographic Magazine as the world's greatest wine harvest celebration. This unmatched "jubilation" of grape cultivation and wine production, climaxes with the jaw-dropping "espectaculo" called "Acto Central" brimming with the energy of 2000 dancers, singers and musicians. Acto Central is just a single highlight in this most fun of all our programs. The days in Mendoza will focus on the bodegas and festivities leading up to the "Acto Central". Evening classes bring out the best that Argentina has to offer as Martin and Luis teach, in your choice of Spanish or English, about the culture, history and magic of Argentina. After our week in Mendoza, we fly up to the center of outdoor asados, gaucho culture and Chacarera for the tranquil side of Argentina in Cafayate. This is Argentina's most impressive countryside, imagine the colorful valleys and peaks of Sedona combined with the vineyards of Napa. We return from Cafayate to Salta through some of Argentina's most impressive countryside, on the famous Ruta 40 with stops at Colome and Cachi.  
A country of treasures, western Argentina will satisfy all your senses and is as different from Buenos Aires as the Bronx is to western Colorado.

Argentina during the Wine Harvest Festivals will start on in Mendoza where we will pick you up from the airport and take you to your hotel for the next seven days. Time in Mendoza will be packed with Martín's fascinating programming and his insider's access to the best Mendoza has to offer. Vendimia festivities include, the world famous Acto Central, Mega-degustacion, La Festa Italia, Via Blanca, Carousel and three absolutely delightful bodegas where our paired lunches will be some of the best meals of your life. After a week we will transfer by plane from Mendoza to Salta and then on to Cafayate for two weeks of what past participants have called "heaven on earth". Your days will be spent in Spanish or English based on your preferences and the pace is a wonderful "slow". We will end the adventure in Salta for a night of "Chacarera" before flying home from Salta the next morning.
